# Notification Settings and In-App Notification Center

> Understand the types of notifications Westpoint sends, manage push notification permissions, and use the in-app notification center to stay up to date.

Westpoint sends notifications to keep you informed about your orders, deliveries, promotions, and messages. You control which notifications you receive and can review past alerts in the in-app notification center at any time.

## Types of notifications

The table below shows each notification type, what triggers it, and how it is delivered.

| Notification type | What triggers it | Delivery method |
| ---------------------- | ----------------------------------------------- | -------------------------- |
| **Order confirmed** | Your order is accepted and payment is processed | Push notification |
| **Order processing** | A vendor starts preparing your order | Push notification |
| **Order shipped** | Your order is handed to a delivery partner | Push notification |
| **Out for delivery** | A delivery partner is on the way to you | Push notification |
| **Order delivered** | Your order is marked as delivered | Push notification |
| **Order cancelled** | An order is cancelled by you or the vendor | Push notification |
| **Promotional offers** | Discounts, flash sales, or featured products | Push notification |
| **Vendor messages**    | A vendor replies to your chat inquiry           | Push notification + in-app |
| **New in-app alerts**  | System announcements or account notices         | In-app only                |

## Enabling and disabling notifications

Notification preferences are managed at the device level through your phone's settings.

**On Android:**

1. Open your device **Settings**.
2. Tap **Apps** and find Westpoint in the list.
3. Tap **Notifications** and toggle notification categories on or off.

**On iOS:**

1. Open your device **Settings**.
2. Scroll down and tap **Westpoint**.
3. Tap **Notifications** and adjust the settings to your preference.

<Note>
  Changes to notification settings take effect immediately. Turning off a category means you will not receive any alerts for that type, even for active orders.
</Note>

## Push notification permissions

The first time you open Westpoint, the app asks permission to send you push notifications. Tap **Allow** to receive order and delivery updates.

If you previously denied permission and want to enable it:

1. Open your device **Settings**.
2. Find Westpoint in the app list.
3. Enable **Notifications**.

<Warning>
  If push notifications are disabled, you will not receive real-time order or delivery updates. Check the in-app notification center or your order history to track the status of your orders.
</Warning>

## In-app notification center

Even without push notifications enabled, you can view your notification history inside the app.

To open the notification center:

1. Tap **Account** in the bottom navigation bar.
2. Tap **Messages** (the chat icon) to view vendor messages, or look for the notification bell icon at the top of the home screen for system alerts.

Inside the notification center you can:

* **Mark as read** — tap a notification to mark it as read, or use **Mark all as read** to clear the unread badge at once.
* **Clear all** — remove all notifications from the list.

<Tip>
  Tap any order-related notification to jump directly to the order details screen, where you can see the current status, delivery stages, and any available actions.
